Azusa is arguably the best motorcycle town on this entire list. San Gabriel Canyon Road and Glendora Mountain Road start at the edge of the city and are among the finest riding roads in Southern California — which means the bikes here get ridden properly rather than polished. Canyon riding is also the hardest test there is for bagger audio: constant elevation change, walls that reflect sound unpredictably, wind that varies with every corner, and a full-face helmet for most of it. That is where stock fairing audio stops existing entirely.

On a bike that sees GMR regularly the lock ties and the soldering matter, because vibration on those roads finds anything that was merely pushed together. The canyon-specific version of the usual mistake is chasing volume. On GMR the problem is not that the sound is too quiet, it is that it is arriving from the wrong place and being scattered by the airflow before it reaches you. More power into a fairing speaker in that environment mostly generates heat. Pods are close, aimed and above the worst of the turbulence, which is why a modest system through them works where a large one through the fairing does not.

Music that is still there at canyon speed with a full helmet on, through elevation changes and corner after corner.
