West LA has some of the worst traffic in North America, which for a rider means a great deal of time at low speed between stationary cars, and then weekends that go up over the Sepulveda Pass or out along PCH. Those two conditions could not be less alike. Filtering through stopped traffic on Olympic, you are surrounded by people in cars with their windows down at a distance of about four feet. On the pass at speed you are alone in wind. A system that only serves one of those is serving maybe half your riding.
