Garden Grove riders run the 22 west to the coast — Seal Beach, Huntington and PCH from there — which is the standard central Orange County weekend. The 22 is short and fast, PCH is long and steady, and both are sustained-speed environments. The other half of the riding is Garden Grove Boulevard and Brookhurst at thirty-five, which is where a system specified only for the coast run becomes unpleasant. The city has a lot of apartment and small-tract parking, which means most bikes here sit uncovered overnight, and an uncovered bike ten minutes from the coast is closer to a coastal bike than its owner usually assumes.
