Anaheim is 22 miles from the Avalon pin and the route is as simple as it gets on a bike: the 91 west, all of it, then Avalon south off the 110. Thirty to thirty-five minutes when the 91 is moving, which means a morning run. The alternate is the 5 north to the same 91 merge, or the 22 west to the 405. Ride in or trailer in. Maps pin 22025 S Avalon Blvd Ste A, CA 90745.

The 91 is the loudest freeway in Orange County and Anaheim riders live on it. Between the truck volume, the concrete surface and the wind at the speeds that stretch actually moves at, a stock Harley fairing speaker is finished well before the posted limit. East of the hills there is better riding — Santiago Canyon and the roads toward Ortega — but almost every ride out of Anaheim starts with a freeway section, and that is the part that decides whether you listen to anything at all.

AMS Pods start at $649 a pair. Chrome or gloss, crash-bar bracket and screws included, built to order in-house, about three weeks. They mount at an angle on the crash bar so the output is aimed at the rider. No invented package dollars beyond $649 a pair. A full bagger build is usually up to about ten business days in the shop, confirmed in person once the bike has been seen.

Richard builds the pods in Carson and has done since 2003. Hertz Neo goes inside — small neo magnet, weatherproof, and clear at volume rather than merely loud. Street Glide and Road Glide take a fairing amplifier and a tank pull so the wiring runs properly. A Road King has no fairing, so the pods do the work and the amp sits in a bag on a carpeted board with an AMS quick disconnect. Bags can be built for bass with cut lids, concave drilling, carpeted spacers, inverted speakers and soldered quick disconnects.

Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King — those three. Bring the bike rather than photos, because the fairing on a Road Glide and the fairing on a Street Glide are different problems and the year affects both. Harley radios in the shop are Diamond Audio, plus Sony and Soundstream. If a Road King is the bike, the conversation is simpler and the pods carry more of the result.

What gets suggested first is a bigger fairing speaker, and on the 91 that is money spent in the wrong place. The fairing fires across you, the wind takes it, and the faster you go the worse the ratio gets. Pods sit on the crash bar and aim up at the rider from close range, so the sound reaches you before the airflow gets it. That is why a modest amplifier through pods beats a large one through a fairing at freeway speed.

The 91 stops being the part of the ride where you give up on the radio. Music that is audible at speed with a full-face helmet on and that does not turn to distortion when you want a little more on a straight. Weatherproof pods so a shower does not matter. Bags that still come off in seconds. And a bike that looks finished rather than modified.

The 91 west the whole way, then Avalon south off the 110 — 22 miles, thirty to thirty-five minutes, morning run. Street Glide, Road Glide, Road King. AMS Pods from $649 a pair, about three weeks built to order. Hertz Neo inside. Full bagger usually up to about ten business days.

Same bay for the cage. Car audio is LA Car Beats at lacarbeats.com. Window tint is LA Car Tint at lacartint.com — 3M Authorized Dealer. Vehicle security is LA Car Alarm at lacaralarm.com, and Anaheim resort and stadium parking makes that a sensible conversation. Tesla glass has its own site at teslatintla.com, which already has an Anaheim page.

Monday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Sunday closed. Pods take about three weeks to build, so the first trip is a measurement and a conversation. Call before you get on the 91 and Nick will say whether to bring the bike. A Payment Plan is at the counter once the bike is quoted. Google shows 4.8 from 654 reviews.

If you ride a bagger out of Anaheim and the 91 is where the music stops, that is a placement problem rather than a power problem. Call or text (310) 513-8800 and ask for Nick. 22025 S Avalon Blvd Ste A, CA 90745.

FAQ

Are you in Anaheim?

No. There is no Anaheim motorcycle storefront. AMS Pods is the Harley bagger-audio side of Audio MotorSports at 22025 S Avalon Blvd Ste A, CA 90745 — 22 miles away on the 91 west. Ride in or trailer in.

Which bikes do you build for from Anaheim?

Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King. Those three only on these pages.

How much are AMS pods if I ride from Anaheim?

Pods start at $649 a pair — chrome or gloss, crash-bar bracket and screws included, built to order in-house, about three weeks. No invented package dollars beyond $649 a pair.

Why do stock speakers fail on the 91?

Because a fairing speaker fires across you and the wind takes most of it, and the faster you go the worse the ratio gets. The 91 is the loudest freeway in the county, which makes it the clearest demonstration.

Why Hertz Neo if I ride from Anaheim?

Small neo magnet so the pod stays compact, weatherproof because the bike lives outside, and clear when it is loud. We do not invent Hertz model numbers.

Do Street Glide and Road Glide need a tank pull?

Yes, both take a fairing amplifier and a tank pull so the wiring is run properly rather than tied along the frame.

What about a Road King from Anaheim?

No fairing, so the pods carry the whole job and the amplifier lives in a bag on a carpeted board with an AMS quick disconnect.

How long does a full bagger take?

Usually up to about ten business days in the shop, confirmed in person once Nick has seen the bike. Pods themselves are about three weeks to build.

Do you offer a Payment Plan from Anaheim?

Yes. A Payment Plan is available at the counter after the bike is quoted. Price the build first, then decide. Payment Plan is the only name for it.

What's in scope at the Avalon bay?

Car audio, window tint, and vehicle security — plus Harley bagger audio on the AMS Pods side. Body work, wraps, paint protection film, and auto glass are other trades; we'll point you to someone good rather than guess.
