Glendale is 26.9 miles from the Avalon pin. Brand Boulevard or Colorado Street toward the 5 south, or the 134 west to the 110 south, then Avalon. Forty to fifty minutes on a bagger. The 134 to the 110 is often the better ride even though it looks longer, because the 5 through downtown on a bike is genuinely unpleasant. Ride in or trailer in. Maps pin 22025 S Avalon Blvd Ste A, CA 90745.
Glendale has the best canyon access of any city on this list after Azusa and Pasadena. Angeles Crest starts at the top of the valley, the Verdugo roads are right there, and Mulholland is a short run west. That means Glendale baggers get ridden on roads where the airflow around the rider changes constantly and the elevation shifts by thousands of feet — the hardest possible test for audio that has to reach a helmeted rider.
AMS Pods start at $649 a pair. Chrome or gloss, crash-bar bracket and screws included, built to order in-house, about three weeks. Nothing gets invented beyond $649 a pair. A full bagger build is usually up to about ten business days in the shop, confirmed in person once the bike has been seen.
Richard makes the pods in Carson, in-house since 2003. Hertz Neo goes inside — small neodymium magnet, weatherproof, clear at volume. Street Glide and Road Glide take a fairing amplifier and a tank pull, which on a canyon bike matters because a run tied along the frame will chafe. On a Road King the pods carry the job and the amplifier lives in a bag on a carpeted board with an AMS quick disconnect. Soldered terminations and lock ties throughout.
Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King. Harley radios in the shop are Diamond Audio, plus Sony and Soundstream. For a bike that runs the Crest regularly, the mechanical side of the install is what determines whether it is still right at the end of a season, and that is decided in the bay rather than on the road.
Elevation is the thing nobody accounts for. On Angeles Crest you climb thousands of feet, the air thins, and a speaker that was adequate at the bottom is noticeably weaker at the top — on top of the wind and the helmet. That is a physical effect and it is the same reason getting the source close to the rider matters more the higher you go. A fairing speaker is fighting all three at once. It is worth being precise about which of those three you can act on. You cannot change the altitude, the helmet is not negotiable, and the wind is the road — the distance from the speaker to your head is the only variable on the list that is actually yours to set.
Music that is still present at the top of the Crest as well as at the bottom. Nothing that chafes or works loose after a season of canyon riding. Weatherproof pods for mountain weather that changes without warning. And a bike that looks right, which on a road where every rider looks at every other bike is worth something.
Brand or Colorado to the 5 south, or the 134 west to the 110 south, then Avalon — 26.9 miles, forty to fifty minutes. AMS Pods from $649 a pair, about three weeks built to order. Hertz Neo inside. Soldered terminations and lock ties for the Crest.
Worth combining at this distance. Car audio is LA Car Beats at lacarbeats.com — integration only on German cars, no fault codes. Window tint is LA Car Tint at lacartint.com — 3M Authorized Dealer with Color Stable at the counter. Vehicle security is LA Car Alarm at lacaralarm.com — relay theft on keyless BMW and Mercedes.
Monday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Sunday closed. Pods are about three weeks built to order, so ring ahead at this distance rather than riding down on spec. A Payment Plan is at the counter once the bike is quoted. Google shows 4.8 from 654 reviews.
If you ride Angeles Crest out of Glendale, you are fighting wind, a helmet and thinning air at the same time — and a fairing speaker loses to all three. Call or text (310) 513-8800 and ask for Nick. 22025 S Avalon Blvd Ste A, CA 90745.

Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King. Those three only on these pages.
Because a wiring run tied along the frame will chafe on roads with that much movement in them. Running it properly under the tank is worth more here than on a freeway bike.
The 134 to the 110 is often the better ride even though it looks longer. The 5 through downtown on a bagger is genuinely unpleasant.
Not with soldered terminations and lock ties, which are standard here for exactly that reason.
Yes. A Payment Plan is available at the counter after the bike is quoted. Payment Plan is the only name for it.
Distance to your ear, because it is the only one of the three you can actually change. Elevation, wind and the helmet are all fixed by the ride you chose.
Car audio, window tint, and vehicle security — plus Harley bagger audio on the AMS Pods side. Body work, wraps, paint protection film, and auto glass are other trades; we'll point you to someone good rather than guess.
